Can I register as an individual?
Yes, the race welcomes both corporate teams and individual runners.
As a Corporate Team Captain, am I automatically registered for the race?
No. Team Captains must register themselves under their Corporate Team if they plan to participate.
Is the race timed?
Yes, the race will be timed.
What award categories are offered?
Awards are offered for the top 3 Men's Company Teams and the top 3 Women's Company Teams. Awards are also offered for the top 3 overall individual men and top 3 overall individual women finishers. As the event is primarily a Corporate Team Competition, and is different from most road races in that respect, no individual age-group awards are offered.
Does the race follow a certified course?
Yes, the 5K follows a USATF certified course.
Can I walk or jog the race if I am not competitive?
Certainly! Anyone who is physically able to complete a 5K (3.1 miles) is encouraged to register.
Are Race Bibs transferable?
No, race bibs may not be transferred to another runner, even in the event that the registered runner cannot attend. Doing so will disqualify the bib number.
Is Race Day Registration offered?
No, all participants must pre-register for the race.
Can my Team stick around after the race?
Company teams may remain at the event site after the race.
How early should I arrive?
We recommend arriving at least 45 minutes before the start time of 7:30 PM.
Are pets allowed in the race?
Pets are not permitted on the race course or at the event site.
What does my registration fee cover?
Entry fees cover the operational costs of organizing the event, race t-shirt, participant amenities, professional race timing, and a per-participant donation to the charity beneficiary, JBWS.
Is any portion of my entry fee tax deductible?
No. Entry fees are paid to the event production company, not directly to the charity beneficiary. It is the event production company, not the individual participant, which makes the donation to the charity beneficiary.
Are there refunds on registration?
The race does not issue refunds. No exceptions.
Is there an event beneficiary?
Yes, the Verizon Corporate Classic benefits JBWS.
COVID-19 Policy
Participants shall follow all applicable local, state, and national guidelines and regulations regarding exercise and social distancing. The event organizers will follow recommendations and the latest health and safety procedures and guidelines from the CDC and local health departments regarding COVID-19.
All participants who will be attending the event are encouraged to practice social distancing at the event site, to exercise their preference to wear a mask at the event site if they wish, and to refrain from attending the event if they exhibit any COVID-19 indicator symptoms or have a fever of 100.4 or higher. Masks will be provided to anyone who requests one.
Hand sanitizers will be provided throughout the event gathering site, both before and after the event.
